The people he is praying for were given to him by the Father.

He is praying that everyone in the world will agree with him.

Pray specifically for the people God has placed before you, asking for their good.

Keep prayers broad enough that no one feels singled out.

Wait until you have solved the problem yourself before you pray.

Focus only on people you already find easy to care about.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and that I need your mercy. I turn from my sin and ask you to forgive me. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as my Lord, and I ask you to make me yours and keep me in your care. Amen.

Receive Jesus and Belong to Him

Lord, wake up your Church to the kind of prayer Jesus shows here. Make us steady in intercession, tender toward the people you place in our care, and faithful to bring them before you instead of ignoring them. Renew our love, our prayer lives, and our sense of belonging to you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Us to Pray for the People You Entrust

Thank God for Jesus' loving concern, for being known by the Father, and for the comfort of belonging to him. Thank him that Christ does not leave his own unattended.

Thank You for Jesus' Care

Begin with one person God has placed in front of you, name what they need, and ask the Father to care for them as his own. Keep your prayer simple, specific, and faithful.

Pray Specifically

Pray for the people God has given you to love: family, friends, neighbors, and fellow believers. Ask for their good, their protection, their growth, and a deeper awareness that they belong to God.

Those Entrusted to You

Father, teach me not to be indifferent to the people you have placed before me. Give me a heart like Jesus: prayerful, specific, and full of care. Help me bring them to you regularly and trust you with them, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
