Pause and choose restraint instead of striking out

Use force because the situation feels urgent

Excuse harm as necessary once the dust settles

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned, that my anger and fear have led me into wrong, and that I cannot make myself right. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Forgive me, lead me into your peace, and make me new. Amen.

Come to Jesus for Mercy and Peace

Lord, revive your Church where we have become sharp, defensive, and quick to wound. Teach us to lay down violence, to protect the vulnerable, and to answer fear with peace and truth. Make us a people who heal rather than harm, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your Church to Be Peaceful

Lord, heal the damage that careless words, anger, or fear have caused. Where I have hurt someone, give me courage to make it right; where others have been harmed, bring comfort and restoration. Let your mercy repair what I cannot, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Heal What Anger Breaks

Father, train my reactions. When I feel threatened, help me pause, listen, and choose restraint instead of harm. Give me a gentle heart and steady hands, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

A Slower, Gentler Response

Pray by naming one situation where you are tempted to react quickly. Ask God to slow your body down, show you the person in front of you, and lead you to a peaceful next step.

Pray Before You Act

Pray for: people who have been hurt by sudden conflict; the grace to notice wounded people by name, not as faceless problems; and courage to be a calm, protective presence for someone else this week.
