If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned in my words, my attitudes, and my actions. You were struck and shamed, yet you endured suffering for me. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you alone. Be my Lord and my Savior, and teach me to follow you with a humble heart. Amen.

Receive the Savior Who Was Struck

Lord, revive your Church so that we do not answer harshness with harsher harshness. Give us reverence under pressure, courage without contempt, and love strong enough to refuse violence. Make us a people who reflect your gentleness and truth, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Make Your Church Gentle and Brave

Father, I confess the sharpness in my speech, the hidden contempt in my heart, and the times I have reacted before listening. Forgive me, and teach me to answer with restraint and honor, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Turn My Harshness

When you face a tense conversation, pause first. Name the person and the pressure to God, ask for calm words and a soft heart, and then speak only what is true and respectful.

Pray Before You Reply

Pray for those in authority and for those who work under them: that pressure would not produce pride, fear, or abuse; that those who lead would hear with wisdom; and that those who speak would do so with respect and courage.

For Leaders and Those Who Answer Them

Father, comfort anyone who has been insulted, struck, or treated with contempt. Heal the wound of humiliation, guard their heart from bitterness, and give them peace and safety today, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For Those Hurt by Harsh Speech
