28. Formal Translation
After that, they brought Jesus {Iesous, Silent Sufferer} from Caiaphas to the praetorium; it was still early. They themselves did not go inside the praetorium, so that they would not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.
28. Dynamic Translation
So they brought Jesus {Iesous, Accused Messiah} from Caiaphas to the Roman governor’s headquarters. It was early morning, and they themselves stayed outside, so that they would not be made unclean, but could eat the Passover meal.
