They took him from Caiaphas to the Roman governor's headquarters.

They took him from the temple courts to a private home.

They remained outside the official building.

They wanted to be able to eat the Passover.

Protect outward religious appearance, even if it leaves the wrong thing untouched.

Let inner obedience and honesty guide the choice, even when appearances are at stake.

Step away from all faith practices so you never risk inconsistency.

Focus only on external rules and assume the heart will sort itself out.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and often cared more about outward appearance than a heart that is right with God. I need your mercy and your cleansing. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Lead me in your truth and make me yours. Amen.

Come to Jesus

Lord, revive your Church so we do not settle for outward religion while missing your heart for truth, mercy, and holiness. Strip away hypocrisy, give us clean hearts, and make our worship match our obedience. Let us honor Jesus above appearances, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

A Holy and Honest Church

Father, thank you for sending Jesus through unfair hands and for his faithful obedience in suffering. Help us value his steady love more than our own comfort, and teach us to follow him with integrity, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Jesus' Faithfulness

Bring to God any place where you have cared more about looking right than being right. Ask him to expose mixed motives, forgive your hypocrisy, and make your heart sincere before him.

Honest Hearts

Pray by naming one situation where appearance, convenience, or fear tempts you to choose the easier outward path. Ask God for courage to do what is right, even if it costs you something, and for a heart that values him more than image.

Pray for Integrity

Pray for pastors, teachers, and all who lead in faith: that they would care more about truth and obedience than reputation, and that they would never use religious concern to excuse wrong priorities. Ask God to keep their hearts clean and their witness clear, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
