Yield to him in reverence and let his word shape your choices

Yielding to the Lord Jesus

Lord, revive your Church with a fresh sense of who Jesus is. Where we have treated his word casually, wake us up; where we have resisted his authority, teach us to yield; where we have grown numb to his presence, restore holy awe. Let our worship, repentance, and witness show that Christ still has power today, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Awe in Your Church

Thank God for the power of Jesus' word, for his authority over fear and resistance, and for the mercy that gives us room to respond. Praise him that his voice is not empty, and that his presence is greater than every opposing force.

Thankful for Jesus' Authority

Pray by naming one place where you are holding back from Jesus. Ask him to speak into that area, to quiet your fear, and to help you take one humble step of obedience today.

Pray for a Surrendered Heart

Pray for people who are pulling away from Jesus, that his truth would meet them with mercy and that they would not only feel his power but come to trust him. Ask God for opportunities to share Christ with gentleness and clarity.

For Those Backing Away from Christ

Bring these desires to God: a deeper reverence for Jesus, quicker obedience when he speaks, and a heart that does not resist his authority. Ask him to make you teachable and ready to follow.
