Answer plainly and name Jesus as the one you are seeking

Keep your answer vague and let someone else explain what you mean

Change the subject to a safer religious idea

Say only what sounds acceptable, even if it is not fully true

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I have been searching in the wrong places, and I need you. I admit that I have sinned and cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and confess you as Lord. Receive me, lead me, and make me yours. Amen.

Come to Jesus Honestly

Lord, revive your Church to seek Jesus with clarity and courage. Where we have settled for shallow answers, give us honest hearts; where we have drifted, draw us back; where we have grown dull, awaken us to want your Son above everything else. Restore a people who answer you plainly and follow you fully, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Your Church to Seek You

Thank God that Jesus asks direct questions, welcomes honest answers, and is not offended by seekers. Thank him that the name of Jesus is clear and near to those who want him.

Thank You for a Direct Savior

Pray by naming one thing you are truly after right now, then ask Jesus whether that desire is leading you toward him. End by asking him to help you answer him honestly.

Pray Your Real Search

Pray for someone who is searching: that they would not settle for vague religion, but would come to Jesus, recognize him clearly, and answer him truthfully.

For Searchers to Find Jesus

Lord, train my heart to seek Jesus above every other thing. Keep me from hiding behind vague words, and give me the grace to answer you honestly when you ask what I am looking for, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
