Lord, revive your Church where we have grown used to death, grief, and finality. Make us tender toward sorrow, faithful in the dark, and ready to trust that you are still at work even in places that look like endings. Teach us to carry hope into the wounded places of our world, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Father, thank you that even at the place of crucifixion there was a garden and a new tomb. Thank you that your mercy is present in quiet places and that you are not absent when sorrow is near. Help me trust your hidden goodness, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Lord, be near to anyone standing in a season of loss today. Where there is shock, give steadiness; where there is emptiness, give peace; where there is fear, give the quiet hope that you are still present. Comfort the brokenhearted and hold them close, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Begin by naming the loss honestly, then ask God to meet you there as he was present near the crucifixion site. Ask for reverence, patience, and a hope that keeps trusting him even when the situation feels closed or final.
