Only obey after checking whether others approve

Choose a different task that seems more useful

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and have not obeyed you as I should. I turn from my sin and ask for your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I want to follow your word. Lead my life, and teach me to do what you say. Amen.

Receive the One Whose Word Is Enough

Father, revive your Church so we listen to Jesus with humble trust. Forgive us for slow obedience, selective hearing, and empty words. Make us a people who hear his word and do it, and let that obedience make your presence visible in the world, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Our Ear for Jesus

Father, give me a quick and willing heart when Jesus speaks. Save me from delay, excuses, and half-obedience. Help me respond with trust even before I see the outcome, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Bring to God: gratitude for clear direction from Jesus, thankfulness for trustworthy guidance, and a willingness to receive his word without complaint.

Pray for parents, mentors, pastors, and friends who influence others: that they would point people to Jesus, speak clearly, and model humble obedience.

For Those Who Lead Others

Start with one instruction of Jesus that you already know. Ask God for courage to obey it, then name one concrete action you will take today.
