Lord, revive your Church with tender hearts. Where we have grown numb to sorrow, teach us to weep with those who weep; where we have become hurried, teach us to stop and look; where we have become distant, draw us near to the hurting. Make us attentive, compassionate, and faithful again, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Your People to Weep and Seek

Father, when I stand in a painful place and cannot stop crying, stay near to me. Help me not to hide my grief or rush past it, but to bring it honestly before you. Give me the grace to keep looking to you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Near Me in the Place of Tears

Name the loss that is making you cry. Then ask God for the courage to stay present, the patience to keep looking, and the trust to believe he sees you even before anything changes.

Pray Through a Hard Place

Pray for: a friend who is grieving quietly; the grace to notice them with kindness; and the strength to sit with them without trying to fix their pain, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For Someone Standing Alone and Weeping

Give thanks that God is not far from tears, and that he notices the ones who are crying outside the door. Thank him for the way sorrow is seen and not ignored, and ask for a thankful, compassionate heart.
