Pause, look again, and stay open to where Jesus may already be near

Assume nothing matters unless the moment is obvious and dramatic

Keep moving without reflecting, since missing him is just part of life

Wait for a major sign before giving the moment any attention

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and open my life to you. I confess you as Lord and trust you as my Savior. Come into my life and lead me in your way. Amen.

Receive Me, Lord Jesus

Lord, revive your Church to recognize you when you are near. Where we have become distracted, hurried, or blind to your presence, open our eyes again. Give us tenderness, attention, and faithfulness so we do not miss you standing among us, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Help Your Church Recognize You Again

Lord, when I sense your nearness but cannot yet understand what you are doing, steady me. Keep me from panic, and help me trust that you are present even before I recognize you clearly, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

When I Cannot Yet Recognize You

Pray by naming one place in your day where you most easily rush past Jesus, then ask God to slow you down, open your eyes, and help you look again with faith.

Pray for a More Attentive Heart

Bring these to God: a desire to notice Jesus in ordinary moments; patience when his presence is not obvious at first; willingness to look again before deciding what is true.

Growing in Recognition

Pray for someone who feels spiritually confused or numb, that Jesus would be near to them and make himself known; pray also for the grace to come alongside them with patience and care.

Eyes Open for Others
