Stay attentive, keep gathering with other disciples, and respond when he shows himself

Treat the meeting with Jesus as one past event and stop listening

Look only for dramatic experiences and ignore ordinary faithfulness

Assume Jesus is known only through memory, not relationship

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and cannot save myself. I turn from my sin and trust that you died for me and rose from the dead. Be my Lord and Savior. Make yourself known to me, and help me follow you from this day on. Amen.

Receive the Risen Lord

Lord, revive your Church with fresh wonder at the risen Jesus. Where we have grown dull, make us attentive. Where we settle for memory, bring living faith. Let us recognize your presence, gather as your disciples, and follow you together, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Up Your Church to Your Presence

Father, thank you that Jesus did not leave his followers in confusion after the cross. Thank you that he kept making himself known after rising from the dead. Teach me to live with gratitude for the living Christ and the hope he gives, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Showing Yourself Again

Pray by naming one place where you need to notice Jesus more clearly. Ask God to make you attentive to the risen Lord, to help you recognize his work in ordinary life, and to keep you close to his people.

Pray for Open Eyes

Bring these themes to God: confidence that Jesus is alive; patience when he seems hidden; a learner's heart that stays ready to receive him again; and faithfulness to keep showing up with his followers.

Growing in Watchful Faith

Pray for someone who needs fresh assurance that Jesus is alive and near. Ask God to meet that person with quiet grace, strengthen their faith, and draw them into a community that keeps following Jesus together, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
