To explain why Peter had already suffered

To promise an easy future after this moment

To identify the exact day the death would happen

The statement said suffering could be avoided

Keep following Jesus even when obedience has a cost

Wait to obey until you can see the full outcome

Treat hardship itself as proof that you are right

Follow only when it does not threaten comfort

Come and Follow

Father, revive your Church to follow Jesus with courage. Where we have preferred comfort over obedience, forgive us; where fear has made us quiet, make us faithful. Teach us to glorify you in costly obedience and to keep going when the path is hard, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Our Following

Pray by naming one place where Jesus is asking you to follow him at a cost. Ask for courage, clarity, and a willing heart, then choose one next step you can take today.

Pray for One Costly Step

Father, thank you that Jesus did not call us to a path he would not walk. Thank you that even suffering can honor you, and that following him is never wasted. Help me trust his call more than my comfort, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for the Way of the Cross

Pray for: Christians facing loss, opposition, or fear because they follow Jesus; steadfast hearts that keep honoring God; wise companions who will strengthen them to keep walking with Christ.

For Believers Under Pressure

Bring these to God: reluctance to obey when the path is costly; a desire to choose ease over faithfulness; a fresh willingness to let Jesus define success by obedience and trust.
