The crowd's approval is the source behind him

His family background is the source behind him

His ability depends on God as the source.

He would still manage a few things on his own.

Without that source, he would be unable to do anything.

Human effort is presented as the real reason his works succeed.

Begin with prayer and act with humble dependence.

Wait until you feel fully capable before starting.

Treat skill and effort as the main source of success.

Focus on looking confident, even without depending on God.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and tried to live in my own strength. I believe you came from God, died for my sins, and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Come into my life and lead me in your truth. Amen.

Receive the One God Sent

Lord, revive your Church to stop trusting human strength and start depending on you. Open our eyes to recognize what is truly from you, and make our words and works point people to Christ. Renew our faith, our humility, and our boldness, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Awaken Your Church to Depend on You

Father, I confess that I often lean on my own ability. Teach me to depend on you as the source of every good work, and keep me from boasting in myself. Let my life show that apart from you I can do nothing of lasting value, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Teach Me Real Dependence

Bring one specific task before God. Say where you are tempted to trust yourself, ask him to be your source, and then take the next step with humility.

Pray Before You Act

Give thanks for every work of Jesus that reveals he truly comes from God. Praise God that his power is not borrowed from human strength, and thank him for signs that point you back to the Father.

Thank God for Jesus' Works

Pray for anyone who is uncertain about Jesus, that they would see his words and works clearly, recognize his divine source, and respond with faith. Pray also for courage to speak about him with gentleness and confidence.
