A few of the people present are included in the promise

They will see the Son of Man arrive as king

The event is said to happen only after they have already died

Live alert and faithful now, without trying to predict the date

Assume the promise is only symbolic and keep living as before

Focus mainly on proving you are spiritually better than others

Wait for a dramatic sign before making any daily changes

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and lived as if your kingdom did not matter. I need your mercy, and I turn from my sin to you. I believe you died for me and rose again, and I trust you as the one who will come in your kingdom. Be my Lord and my Savior, and lead my life from this day forward. Amen.

Receive the Coming King

Lord, renew your Church with fresh faith in your coming kingdom. Forgive us for living sleepy, distracted, or fearful as if death had the last word. Make us alert, holy, and hopeful, so we live and speak like people who truly believe your reign is near, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Up Your Church to Your Kingdom

Pray by naming one area where you have been living as if there is no coming kingdom. Ask God for a clearer sense of Jesus' authority, a freer heart toward death, and one faithful next step for today.

Pray for Readiness

Bring these to God: trust in Jesus' promise, patience while waiting, freedom from fear about death, and a steady desire to live in light of his reign.

Growing in Kingdom Expectation

Father, when I feel anxious about death or the future, steady me with Jesus' word. Help me trust that his kingdom is coming, and teach me to live faithfully today instead of fearing tomorrow, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Peace When I Think About Death

Pray for: people who are afraid of death; believers who have become careless while waiting; and those who need to hear that Jesus reigns and his kingdom will come.
