That person is guilty of marital unfaithfulness

That person is free from blame because the first marriage is over

That person is only wrong if both people later regret it

That person is warned about poor judgment, but not about sin

That person is praised for helping someone start over

That person is exempt if the first marriage had problems

Slow down, seek wise help, and pursue faithfulness before ending a marriage

Assume ending a marriage is morally neutral if both people are unhappy

Move quickly into a new relationship so the old pain is easier to leave behind

Treat faithfulness as a private feeling rather than a covenant commitment

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and been unfaithful in heart and action. I turn from my sin and from every false path. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. Forgive me, make me new, and be my Lord and Savior. Teach me to walk in truth and faithfulness. Amen.

Return to the Faithful Lord

Lord, revive your Church with holiness, honesty, and steadfast covenant love. Where we have treated promises lightly, wake us up; where marriages have been wounded, teach us to care with truth and compassion. Make your people steady, humble, and pure before you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Faithfulness in Your Church

Father, bring comfort to anyone who has been hurt by divorce, betrayal, or broken promises. Give peace to the grieving, wisdom to the confused, and gentle strength to those facing hard decisions, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Healing for Wounded Hearts

Start by naming the relationship decision before God. Ask him to show you what faithfulness looks like, to slow you down if you are rushing, and to give you wise counsel, patience, and a truthful heart.

Pray Before a Hard Decision

Bring to God any casual attitude toward promises, any hidden unfaithfulness, and any desire to use people rather than honor them. Ask for a clean heart, integrity in your speech, and reverence for covenant commitments.

Turning from Casual Faithfulness

Lord, strengthen marriages that are under strain. Give couples patience to listen, humility to seek help, restraint in conflict, and grace to choose what is true and good. Protect them from hard-hearted division and lead them toward peace, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
