Stay spiritually alert in ordinary routines and keep your life ready before God

Assume normal days mean nothing significant can happen

Put off obedience until a dramatic warning forces a change

Treat staying busy as the same thing as being prepared

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and lived as if my own way were enough. I turn from my sin and from trusting myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I ask you to make me ready for you and to lead my life from this day on. Amen.

Receive Me and Make Me Ready

Lord, wake your Church from spiritual sleep. Where we have become busy with ordinary things and have forgotten your coming, revive our watchfulness, our repentance, and our love. Make us faithful in the middle of daily life, so we are not caught unaware, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Us From Routine

Father, keep me awake to you in the middle of meals, work, and errands. Protect me from drifting into autopilot, and teach me to live each day ready for your will and your voice, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Ready in the Middle of Ordinary Days

Name one ordinary part of your day, thank God for it, ask him to make it a reminder to stay spiritually awake, and then ask for one concrete step of obedience you can take today.

Pray Over Your Daily Routine

Pray for: people who assume there will always be more time; families and friends caught up in routine without God; courage for you to speak wisely and lovingly about readiness and hope.

For Those Living Unaware

Thank God for: his mercy in warning us ahead of time; the gift of ordinary days that can be lived with purpose; moments when he wakes you from spiritual sleep and calls you back to him.
