The LORD {YHWH, Faithful Shepherd} shepherds me; I will not lack {ekhsar: be in want}.
He {YHWH, Shepherd Provider} settles me down in green pastures {deshe: lush grass}; He guides me to waters of quiet rest.
He {YHWH, Restorer and Guide} renews my soul {nafshi: life essence}; He directs me along righteous tracks for the sake of His name.
Even when I walk through a valley of deathly shadow, I will not dread evil, because You {attah, Comforting Shepherd} are with me; Your rod {shevet: Shepherd’s Authority} and Your staff—they comfort me.
You {YHWH, Faithful Host} set out a table for me right in front of my adversaries {tzorerai: hostile foes}; You anoint my head with oil; My cup is brimming over.
Indeed, goodness and steadfast love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD {YHWH, Eternal Shepherd} for length of days {yamim: long days}.
