1 Samuel 19:4:1וַיְדַבֵּ֨רvayedabberand he spoke
1 Samuel 19:4:2יְהוֹנָתָ֤ןyehonatanJonathan 1 Samuel 19:4:3בְּדָוִד֙bedavidabout David 1 Samuel 19:4:4ט֔וֹבtovgood, well 1 Samuel 19:4:5אֶל־שָׁא֖וּלelshaulto Saul 1 Samuel 19:4:6אָבִ֑יוavivhis father 1 Samuel 19:4:7וַיֹּ֣אמֶרvayomerand he said 1 Samuel 19:4:8אֵ֠לָיוelavto him 1 Samuel 19:4:9אַל־יֶחֱטָ֨אalyekhetalet not he sin 1 Samuel 19:4:10הַמֶּ֜לֶךְhammelekhthe king 1 Samuel 19:4:11בְּעַבְדּ֣וֹbeavdoagainst his servant 1 Samuel 19:4:12בְדָוִ֗דbedavidDavid 1 Samuel 19:4:13כִּ֣יkifor, because 1 Samuel 19:4:14ל֤וֹאlonot 1 Samuel 19:4:15חָטָא֙khatahe sinned 1 Samuel 19:4:16לָ֔ךְlakhagainst you, to you 1 Samuel 19:4:17וְכִ֥יvekiand for, and because 1 Samuel 19:4:18מַעֲשָׂ֖יוmaasavhis deeds 1 Samuel 19:4:19טוֹב־לְךָ֥tovlekhagood for you 1 Samuel 19:4:20מְאֹֽד׃meodvery, exceedingly
4. Formal Translation
And Jonathan spoke well of David to his father Saul, and he said to him, “Let not the king sin against his servant David, for he has not sinned against you, and his deeds are very good for you.”
4. Dynamic Translation
Jonathan spoke favorably about David to his father Saul and said, “May the king not wrong his servant David, for he has done no wrong to you, and his deeds have greatly benefited you.”
