1 In that day seven women will take hold {hecheziku: seize forcibly} of one man and say, “We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothing; only let us be called by your name, and remove our reproach {cherpah: public disgrace}.”
2 In that day, the branch of the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Restorer} will be for beauty and for glory, and the fruit of the land will be for majesty and for splendor for the remnant {peletat: survivors} of Israel.
3 And it shall come to pass that whoever is left in Zion and whoever remains in Jerusalem will be called holy {kadosh: set apart}, even all who are recorded {katuv: officially inscribed} for life in Jerusalem.
4 When the Lord {Adonai: Divine Purifier} washes away the filth of the daughters of Zion and purges the blood of Jerusalem from her midst by a spirit of judgment {mishpat: divine justice} and by a spirit of burning.
5 And the LORD {YHWH, Divine Protector} will create over every dwelling place of Mount Zion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, and smoke and the brightness of flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there shall be a canopy {chuppah: protective covering}
6 And a shelter {sukkah: protective structure} will be for shade by day from the heat, and for a refuge and a hiding place from the downpour {zerem: violent rainfall} and from the rain.
