The sorrow would have disappeared right away.

Bring the disappointment directly to Jesus and speak honestly.

Hide the hurt so your faith will look strong.

Talk only to other people and leave Jesus out of it.

Explain the event away instead of praying.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and I need your mercy. I cannot save myself. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and trust you as my Lord and Savior. Come near to me, especially in my grief, and lead my life from this day on. Amen.

Come Near to Me, Lord Jesus

Lord, revive your Church where our faith has become distant or guarded. Teach us to come to Jesus with honest sorrow, to trust your presence when timing confuses us, and to comfort the grieving with compassion and hope. Make us a people who keep turning to you instead of turning away, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Wake Your Church to Honest Faith

Father, when my heart says, 'if only,' and my grief feels heavy, meet me with your nearness. Help me believe you see me, hear me, and care for me even before anything changes. Teach me to bring disappointment to you honestly and to rest in your love, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Peace When It Feels Too Late

Bring these to God: thanks that Jesus can be approached honestly; gratitude that grief does not have to be hidden; thankfulness for a Savior whose presence matters even when circumstances are painful.

Giving Thanks for Jesus' Nearness

Pray by naming one person who feels forgotten in pain, asking Jesus to meet them with his presence, and asking God to show you one way to stay with them this week.

Praying for the Grieving

Bring these to God: willingness to tell Jesus your disappointment plainly; faith that his presence matters even when timing hurts; patience to wait without shutting down; courage to keep trusting him.
