| 23. Formal Translation Therefore this saying went out among the brothers that the disciple, that one, would not die; yet Jesus {Iesous, Risen Lord} did not say to him that he would not die, but, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?” |
| 23. Dynamic Translation So this report spread among the believers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus {Iesous, Clarifying Teacher} did not say that he would not die; instead, He said, “If I want him to stay until I return, what does that matter to you?” |
