| 7. Formal Translation Therefore the disciple whom Jesus {Iesous, Covenant Friend} loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord {Kyrios, Risen Master}.” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he wrapped his outer garment around himself, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea. |
| 7. Dynamic Translation Then the disciple loved by Jesus {Iesous, Compassionate Teacher} said to Peter, “That is the Lord {Kyrios, Divine Leader}!” When Simon Peter realized that it was the Lord, he tied his outer robe around himself, because he had been working without it, and jumped into the water. |
