Treat it as a temporary fix and look for what truly lasts

Keep returning to it because familiar relief is enough

Decide that all desire is bad and try not to want anything

Ignore the thirst and hope it disappears on its own

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and tried to satisfy my soul with things that do not last. I turn from my sin and from every empty source I have trusted. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I ask you to come into my life and satisfy the thirst in my heart. Amen.

Come to the One Who Satisfies

Lord, your people often chase things that leave us thirsty again. Wake your Church from spiritual complacency, draw us back to you as the only lasting source, and teach us to seek you before anything else. Make us honest about our emptiness, deepen our repentance, and renew our love for you, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Revive Our Thirsty Church

Father, when I reach for things that cannot last, remind me that only you can satisfy the deepest thirst in me. Meet me in that emptiness, calm my restless heart, and lead me back to what is true and lasting, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For the Soul That Still Feels Thirsty

Bring to God any habit, desire, or source of comfort that keeps leaving you empty again. Ask for honesty about what it cannot give, and for grace to turn away from it and toward what lasts.

Turning from Temporary Wells

Pray by naming one area where you feel repeated spiritual thirst. Ask God to show you what feeds that hunger, and to train your heart to seek him before you seek quicker relief.

Pray for Lasting Satisfaction

Pray for people you know who keep looking for life in things that run dry. Ask God to meet them, to expose what leaves them thirsty again, and to draw them toward lasting peace.
