He will leave them for the disciples to handle

He will wait until people earn the answer

Prayer is meant to earn attention from other people.

Father, I bring this request through Jesus and ask that your honor be seen in him.

Father, I deserve this answer because I have been faithful.

Father, answer me so people will notice my devotion.

Father, I can secure this myself, but please fix it if I fail.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and have tried to live for myself. I cannot save myself and I need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin, confess you as Lord, and receive you as my Savior. Lead my life so that the Father is honored in you. Amen.

Lord, revive your Church to pray through Jesus with faith and humility. Free us from self-centered requests and teach us to seek the Father's honor in the Son. Let our prayers become a testimony of your living power, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank you, Lord, that prayer is not empty when it is offered through Jesus. Thank you for hearing, answering, and shaping requests so that your glory shines in the Son.

Teach Me to Ask Well

Pray for people who are waiting on answers, that they would keep asking with faith, stay humble, and trust that Jesus acts for the Father's honor.

Father, purify my motives when I ask you for anything. Teach me to desire your glory above convenience, control, or praise. Make me steady in faith and glad to trust Jesus as the one who carries out what is good, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
