| 38. Formal Translation After these things, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus {Iesous, Suffering Messiah}, but hidden because of fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus. And Pilate permitted him, so he came and took away His body. |
| 38. Dynamic Translation Later, Joseph from Arimathea, who was a follower of Jesus’ {Iesous, Crucified Redeemer} but kept it secret because he was afraid of the Jewish leaders, asked Pilate for permission to take away Jesus’ body. Pilate agreed, so Joseph came and removed the body. |
