Left only a small part of what they owned

Stay with Jesus and ask him honestly what comes next.

Keep a record of what you gave up so you can claim a larger payoff.

Pause obedience until you can calculate the full return.

Assume the sacrifice means nothing future can be expected.

If you would like to receive Jesus, pray this with me: Lord Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and tried to keep my own life in my hands. I turn from my sin and need your mercy. I believe you died for my sins and rose again. I confess you as Lord, and I choose to follow you. Take all of me, lead me, and make me yours. Amen.

Receive the One Worth Following

Lord, revive your Church where we have become careful, calculating, and unwilling to let go of lesser things. Wake us from comfort, restore generous obedience, and give us hearts that follow Jesus without demanding our own terms. Make us honest, humble, and ready to go wherever he leads, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Renew Our Willingness to Follow

Father, thank you that every sacrifice made in following Jesus is seen by you. Thank you that you do not ignore the things we leave behind, and that our future is safe in your hands. Help us trust your care more than our losses, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Thank You for Seeing Every Sacrifice

Pray by naming one thing you have given up to follow Jesus, then tell him the questions you still carry about the future. Ask him for a steady heart, enough light for today, and the courage to keep walking without needing every answer now.

Pray About What You Have Left

Pray for people who have left behind comfort, approval, plans, or security to follow Jesus: that they would not grow bitter, that they would be strengthened in faith, and that they would know their sacrifice is seen.

For Believers Who Have Sacrificed Much

Bring to God any urge to keep score, compare sacrifices, or demand immediate reward. Ask him to forgive entitlement, to free you from comparison, and to teach you to follow Jesus for who he is, not only for what you expect in return.
