1 And it happened on the day when Moses{Mosheh: prophetic leader} finished setting up the tabernacle, he anointed it and consecrated{kadesh: set apart as holy} it and all its vessels, and the altar and all its utensils; and he anointed them and consecrated them.
2 And they brought near the leaders {nesi’ei: tribal princes} of Israel, the heads of the house of their fathers—these were the leaders of the tribes; they were the ones standing over the counted {pequdim: those registered}.
3 And they brought their offering before the LORD {YHWH, Ritual Recipient}, six covered wagons {eglot: transport wagons} and twelve oxen—a wagon for every two leaders and an ox for each. They presented them before the tabernacle.
4 And the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Giver} spoke to Moses, saying {lemor: introducing divine instruction},
5 Take them from the people, and they shall be for the service {avodah: dedicated work} of the Tent of Meeting. Then you shall give them to the Levites {haLeviyim: set-apart tribe}, each man according to his service.
6 Moses took the carts {agalot: wheeled vehicles} and the oxen and gave them to the Levites {ha-levi’im: temple ministers}.
7 He gave to the sons of Gershon {Gershon: Levitical clan name} two carts and four oxen {bakar: draft animals}, according to their service {avodah: assigned duty}.
8 And he gave four carts and eight oxen to the sons of Merari, according to their service{avodah: sacred service}, by the hand of Ithamar, son of Aaron the priest{kohen: mediator}.
9 But to the sons of Kohath he did not give {natan: Apportioned Share}, because the service {avodat: Sacred Duty} of the holy things was upon them; on the shoulder they were to carry them.
10 And the leaders {nasi: tribal chiefs} brought the dedication {chanukat: consecration} of the altar on the day it was anointed, and the leaders brought their offering before the altar.
11 And the LORD {YHWH, Command Giver} said to Moses, “One leader {nasi: tribal chief} per day shall bring his offering for the dedication of the altar.”
12 And the one presenting the offering{korban: ritual presentation} on the first day was Nachshon son of Amminadab of the tribe{matteh: clan division} of Judah.
13 And his offering was a silver dish {ka’arat: flat bowl} weighing one hundred and thirty shekels {mishqalah: measured weight}; and a silver libation bowl weighing seventy shekels, both according to the sanctuary shekel. The two were full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering.
14 One gold dish {kaf: shallow bowl} weighing ten shekels {asarah: numeric measure}, filled with incense.
15 One bull {par: full-grown male bovine} from the herd, one ram, and one male lamb a year old, for a burnt offering {olah: ascending sacrifice}.
16 One male goat of goats {se'ir izzim: precise sacrificial animal} for a sin offering {chatat: purification sacrifice}.
17 And for the sacrifice of the peace offerings {shelemim: fellowship offerings}: two oxen, five rams, five he-goats, and five year-old lambs {beney-shanah: first-year lambs}; this was the offering of Nahshon son of Amminadab.
18 On the second day, Nethanel {Nethanel: gift of God} the son of Zuar, leader {nasi: tribal chief} of Issachar, brought his offering.
19 He brought near his offering: a silver bowl {qa‘arat-kesef: shallow vessel for offerings} weighing one hundred and thirty {shloshim u-meah: 130} shekels, and a silver sprinkling bowl weighing seventy shekels by the sanctuary shekel {besheqel hakodesh: temple weight standard}; both being full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering.
20 One gold dish {kaf: shallow offering vessel} weighing ten shekels {asarah: weight unit} filled with incense.
21 One young bull {par: specially chosen sacrifice}, one ram, and one male lamb {kevesh: pure sheep} of the first year were offered as a burnt offering.
22 One male goat {seir: hairy goat} from the goats for a sin offering {chatat: purification sacrifice}.
23 And for the sacrifice of the peace offerings {shleminim: communal sacrifices}, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five one-year-old lambs; this was the offering of Nethanel {natan’el: God has given} son of Zuar.
24 On the third day, the leader {nasi: tribal chief} of the sons of Zebulun, Eliab son {ben: direct descendant} of Helon, presented his offering.
25 His offering was one silver {kĕ·sep̄: precious metal} bowl weighing one hundred and thirty shekels and one silver sprinkling bowl weighing seventy shekels according to the shekel of the sanctuary; both of them were filled with fine flour {sō·let: sifted wheat} mixed with oil for a grain offering.
26 One gold dish {kaf: ceremonial vessel} weighing ten shekels {zahav: shekels of gold}, filled with incense.
27 One bull {par: mature ox}, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering {olah: wholly consumed sacrifice}.
28 One male goat {se'ir: young buck} of the goats for a sin offering {lechatat: purification rite}.
29 And for the peace offerings{hashelamim: offerings for well-being} two oxen, five rams, five male goats and five lambs a year old{bnei-shanah: unblemished youth}. This was the offering of Eliab son of Helon.
30 On the fourth day the prince {nasi: tribal governor} of the sons of Reuben, Elizur son {ben: genealogical link} of Shedeur presented his offering.
31 His offering was one silver plate weighing one hundred and thirty shekels {sheqel: standard unit of weight}, one silver bowl weighing seventy shekels, both by the shekel of the sanctuary; both of them filled with fine flour {solet: finest ground wheat} mixed with oil for a grain offering.
32 One gold dish {kaf: ritual vessel} weighing ten shekels, full of incense {ketoret: aromatic offering}.
33 He offered one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb a year old {ben-shenato: in its first year} as a burnt offering {olah: wholly consumed sacrifice}.
34 One male goat {se'ir: he-goat} of the goats as a sin offering {chatat: purification sacrifice}.
35 And for the peace offerings {shelamim: complete fellowship} two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five lambs a year old: this was the offering of Elizur {Elitzur: Mighty Rock}, son of Shedeur.
36 On the fifth day, the leader {nasi: tribal chief} of the sons of {livnei: lineage marker} Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai, presented his offering.
37 His offering was one silver dish {kaarat-keseph: shallow vessel} weighing one hundred and thirty shekels {sheqel: temple standard weight}, and one silver sprinkling bowl weighing seventy shekels by the sanctuary shekel; both were filled with fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering.
38 One golden dish {kaf: shallow pan} weighing ten shekels, filled with incense {ketoret: aromatic spice blend}.
39 One young bull {par: unblemished sacrifice}, one ram, and one male lamb a year old for a burnt offering {olah: completely consumed sacrifice}.
40 One male goat {se’ir: mature he-goat} from the goats for a sin offering {chatat: purification sacrifice}.
41 And for the sacrifice of the peace offerings {shelamim: Fellowship Sacrifice}, there were two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five one-year-old lambs; this was the offering of Shelumiel {Shelumiel: My Peace} son of Zurishaddai.
42 On the sixth day, the leader {nasi: chief representative} for the sons of Gad was Elyasaph, the son {ben: genealogical marker} of Deuel.
43 His offering was one silver plate {ka‘arat kesef: ritual vessel} weighing one hundred and thirty shekels and one silver sprinkling bowl weighing seventy shekels by the sanctuary shekel {be-shekel ha-kodesh: sanctuary standard}. Both were filled with fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering.
44 One gold dish {kaf: ceremonial vessel} weighing ten shekels, filled with incense {ketoret: aromatic offering}.
45 One young bull {par: young bullock}, one ram, and one male lamb one year old for a burnt offering {olah: ascending sacrifice}.
46 One male goat {seir: he-goat} of goats {izzim: herd category} as a sin offering.
47 And for the sacrifice of the peace offerings {shelamim: fellowship gift}, two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five lambs a year old; this was the offering of Elyasaph the son of Deuel {Deuel: knowledge of God}.
48 On the seventh day, the leader {nasi: chief representative} for the sons {livnei: tribal descendants} of Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud, presented his offering.
49 His offering was a silver dish weighing one hundred thirty shekels {sheqel: official unit of weight} and a silver bowl of seventy shekels according to the sheqel of the sanctuary {ha-qodesh: sanctuary standard}; both were filled with fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering.
50 One gold dish {kaf: shallow vessel} of ten {asarah: Hebrew numeral} shekels full of incense.
