1 And the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Lawgiver} spoke to Moses, saying {lemor: direct speech introduction}.
2 Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, “If a man or a woman distinctly makes a vow {neder: formal pledge} of a Nazirite to set himself or herself apart to the LORD {YHWH, Consecration Receiver}.”
3 From wine and strong drink he shall keep himself separate; he shall not drink vinegar of wine or vinegar of strong drink; he shall not drink any juice {mishrat: grape-juice drink}; and he shall not eat grapes {anavim: vine clusters}, fresh or dried.
4 For all the days of his Nazirite vow {nizro: dedication by separation}, from anything that is made from the vine of the wine, from seeds {chartzannim: grape pips} even to the skin, he must not eat.
5 All the days of his Nazirite vow, no razor shall pass over his head. Until the days are fulfilled which he dedicates to the LORD {YHWH, Sanctifier}, he shall be holy {kadosh: set apart} and shall let the hair of his head grow unshorn.
6 All the days of his Naziriteship {haziro: separated vow} to the LORD {YHWH, Sanctity Bestower}, he shall not go near a dead person.
7 He shall not make himself unclean for his father or for his mother or for his brother or for his sister in their death, because the consecration {nezer: mark of dedication} of his God {Elohav, Sanctifying Master} is upon his head.
8 All the days of his separation {nezer: consecrated vow}, he is holy to the LORD {YHWH, Sanctifier of Vows}.
9 And if someone dies suddenly {bepetah: sudden occurrence} near him, thus defiling the head of his Nazirite vow, then he shall shave his head on the day of his purification; on the seventh day {shevi’i: completion milestone}, he shall shave his head.
10 And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves {torim: sacrificial doves} or two young pigeons to the priest at the entrance {petach: sacred threshold} of the tent of meeting.
11 And the priest shall offer one as a sin offering and one as a burnt offering {olah: ascending sacrifice}, and he shall make atonement for him because he sinned in connection with the dead person {nefesh: dead person}, and he shall consecrate his head on that day.
12 And he shall dedicate to the LORD {YHWH, Sanctifier} the days of his vow {nizro: consecration requirement}, and he shall bring a year-old male lamb as a guilt offering; but the former days shall be void because his vow was defiled.
13 And this is the law {torat: legal regulation} of the Nazirite: on the day {yom: fixed moment} when the days of his vow are fulfilled, He shall be brought to the entrance of the tent of meeting.
14 And he shall present his offering to the LORD {YHWH, Worship Recipient}, one perfect male lamb a year old for a burnt offering, one perfect female lamb a year old for a sin offering, and one perfect ram for a peace offering {shlamim: wholeness sacrifice}.
15 And a basket of unleavened breads, loaves of fine flour mixed with oil, and wafers of unleavened breads anointed with oil; and their grain offering {minchah: tribute gift} and their drink offerings {nesech: poured libation}.
16 The priest shall present the offerings before the LORD {YHWH, Divine Audience} and shall perform his sin offering and his burnt offering {olah: ascent offering}.
17 And the priest shall offer the ram as a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to the LORD {YHWH, Recipient of Worship}, with the basket of unleavened bread {matzot: bread without yeast}; and the priest shall present his grain offering and his drink offering.
18 The Nazirite {nazir: one set apart} shall shave the head of his separation at the entrance of the tent of meeting, and shall take the hair of his head of separation and put it on the fire under the fellowship offerings {shelamim: offerings of well-being}.
19 And the priest {kohen: ordained minister} shall take the cooked shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened loaf from the basket, and one thin unleavened cake, and lay them on the hands of the Nazirite after he has shaved his consecration hair {nizro: consecration hair}.
20 And the priest shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD {YHWH, Ritual Preserver}; it is holy {kodesh: set apart} for the priest, besides the breast that is waved and the thigh of the heave offering. Afterward, the Nazirite may drink wine.
21 This is the law of the Nazirite. Whoever vows his offering to the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Recipient} for his Nazirite status, besides what his hand {yad: means or capacity} can afford, in accordance with his vow that he makes, thus he shall act according to the law of his Nazirite vow.
22 And the LORD {YHWH, Initiator of Speech} spoke {vayedabber: authoritative declaration} to Moses, saying,
23 Speak to Aaron {Aharon: High Priest} and to his sons, saying, “Thus {koh: in this way} you shall bless the sons of Israel; say to them.”
24 May the LORD {YHWH, Blessing Giver} bless you and keep {shamar: protective watch} you.
25 May the LORD {YHWH, Blessing Giver} make His face {panav: presence} shine upon you and be gracious to you.
26 May the LORD {YHWH, Blessing Giver} lift His face toward you, and may He set for you peace {shalom: complete well-being}.
27 And they will put my name {shemi: covenant identity} upon the sons of Israel, and I {YHWH, Blessing Bestower} will bless them.
