Le verset s’ouvre sur vayeredu {וַיֵּרְד֨וּ | wayyē-rə-ḏū} 'descendirent', un qal wayyiqtol avec vav consécutif marquant l’enchaînement narratif. La coordination vechol beit avihu {וְכָל־בֵּ֣ית אָבִיהוּ | wə-ḵāl bēṯ ʾā-ḇî-hū} associe la famille paternelle de Samson au mouvement de descente. Les trois verbes successifs wayyisaʾu, wayyaʿălū et wayyiqberū {וַיִּשְׂא֣וּ, וַיַּעֲל֣וּ, וַיִּקְּבְּר֣וּ | way-yiś-ʾū, way-ya-ʿă-lū, way-yiq-bə-rū} forment une chaîne de wayyiqtol, décrivant le transport, la montée puis l’inhumation, et confèrent un rythme binaire.
