1 Brothers, if even a person should be overtaken in any transgression, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness {prautetos: humble mildness}, watching yourself lest you also be tempted {peirasthes: tested under pressure}.
2 Bear one another's burdens {bare: heavy pressures}, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ {Christos, Commanding Lord of Love}.
3 For if anyone thinks himself to be something {ti: supposed importance} when he is nothing, he deceives himself {phrenapatai: inner self-deception}.
4 But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have his reason for boasting {kauchēma: proper basis} in himself alone, and not in another {heteros: different person}.
5 For each {hekastos: every individual} one will bear his own burden {phortion: assigned responsibility}.
6 But let the one who is being instructed in the word {logos: gospel teaching} share {koinoneito: give support} all good things with the one who instructs.
7 Do not be deceived; God {Theos, Moral Judge} is not mocked. For whatever a person sows {speire: initiate outcomes}, this also he will reap.
8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption {phthoran: moral ruin}, but the one who sows to the Spirit {pneuma, Life-Giving Presence} will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
9 But as for doing good {kalon: morally beneficial}, let us not grow weary, for in due time we will reap if we do not give up {ekluomenoi: collapse from exhaustion}.
10 So then, as we have opportunity {kairon: God-given time}, let us work what is good toward all people, and especially toward those who belong to the household {oikeious: inner faith community} of the faith.
11 See what large letters {gramma: oversized characters} I have written to you with my own hand {cheir: personal handwriting}.
12 As many as want to make a good appearance {euprosopesai: external display} in the flesh, these are the ones who compel you to be circumcised, only so that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ {Christos, Crucified Messiah}.
13 For not even those who are circumcised themselves keep the law {nomos: Torah standard}, but they desire you to be circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh {sarx: outward condition}.
14 But may it never be that I should boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ {Iesous Christos: Redeeming King}, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world {kosmos: societal order}
15 For neither circumcision {peritome: outward covenant sign} nor uncircumcision is anything, but a new creation {ktisis: act of making new}.
16 And as many as will walk by this rule, peace be upon them and mercy, and upon the Israel {Israel: covenant people} of God {Theos, Blessing Giver}.
17 From now on, let no one cause trouble to me, for I bear in my body the marks {stigmata: physical suffering scars} of Jesus {Iesous, Suffering Messiah}.
