Psalms 20TAB

To the Chief Musician {lamnatseach: choir director}. A Psalm of David {ledavid: Davidic attribution}.

May the LORD {YHWH, Prayer Receiver} respond to you when distress comes, and may the name of the God of Jacob {Elohei Ya'aqov, Ancestral Covenant God} lift you to a secure height.

May He {YHWH, Deliverer} send assistance to you from the sanctuary {miqodesh: holy place}, and may He uphold you from Zion.

May He {YHWH, Prayer Hearer} remember all your offerings {minchah: gift sacrifices}, and may He treat your burnt offering with favor. Selah.

May He {YHWH, Prayer Receiver} give you what your heart desires, and bring all your counsel {etzah: considered plan} to completion.

We will cry out with joy because of your salvation {yeshuah: deliverance}, and in the name of our God {Eloheinu, Sovereign Protector} we will raise our banner; may the LORD {YHWH, Faithful Upholder} bring about all you ask.

Now I know that the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Deliverer} saves His anointed {meshikho: chosen one}; from His holy heavens He will answer him with the saving strength of His right hand.

Some rely on chariots, and others on horses, but we will keep in mind the name of the LORD {YHWH, Victorious Deliverer} our God {Eloheinu, Personal Covenant God}.

They sink down {karu: abrupt submission} and fall, but we rise and stand upright {nitodad: upright stance}.

LORD {YHWH, Deliverer}, save! May the King answer us on the day we call {qareenu: earnest petition}.
