1 The heavens are telling the glory of God {el, Majestic Creator}, and the expanse {harakiya: cosmic expanse} is declaring the work of His hands.
2 Day after day pours forth speech {omer: spoken word}, and night after night reveals knowledge {da'at: discernment}.
3 There is no speech {omer: utterance}, and there are no words without their voice being heard {nishma: perceived reception}.
4 Their line {qavam: measured line} goes out throughout the earth, and their words reach to the ends of the world. In them He has set a tent {ohel: cosmic dwelling} for the sun.
5 And he is like a bridegroom emerging from his chamber {chuppato: nuptial chamber}, rejoicing like a strong man eager to run his appointed course {orach: appointed course}.
6 From the end of the heavens is its going forth {motzao: course of emergence}, and its circuit is upon their edges {ketzotam: outer boundary}, and nothing is hidden from its heat.
7 The law of the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Teacher} is perfect, restoring the soul {nefesh: life’s essence}; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Lawgiver} are right, bringing joy to the heart {lev: inner being}; the commandment of the LORD is pure, giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD {YHWH, Revered Judge} is pure, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true {emet: trustworthy} and they are altogether righteous.
10 They are more desirable {hannechemadim: precious delight} than gold, even abundant pure gold; and sweeter than honey and dripping {nofet: flowing nectar} of combs.
11 Also, Your {kha, Sovereign Instructor} servant is warned by them; in keeping them there is great reward {eqev: resulting blessing}.
12 Who can discern his errors {shegiot: unintentional wrongdoing}? Cleanse me from hidden faults {ministarot: concealed matters}.
13 Also keep back Your {kha: Sin-Restraining Protector} servant from presumptuous {miz-zedim: deliberate defiance} sins; do not let them rule over me. Then I shall be blameless and innocent of great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before You, O LORD {YHWH, Worthy Recipient}, my Rock {tzur: Unfailing Strength} and my Redeemer.
