Timothy 2TAB

Therefore, I urge first of all that supplications {deeseis: urgent requests}, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people {anthropon: human beings}.

For kings and for all those who are in positions of authority, so that we might lead a quiet {eremon: undisturbed calm} and peaceful life in all godliness {eusebeia: reverence for God} and dignity.

For this is good and acceptable {apodekton: fully approved} in the presence of God {Theos, Saving Benefactor} our Savior.

Who {Theos, Savior of All} desires all people to be saved {sothenai: delivered from peril} and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

For there is one God {Theos, Only Deity}, and one mediator between God and humans, the man Christ Jesus {Iesous Christos, Human Mediator}.

The One who gave Himself {Christos, Self-Giving Mediator} as a ransom in exchange for all, the testimony {martyrion: confirming witness} at its own appointed times.

For this I was appointed as a preacher and an apostle {apostolos: commissioned messenger}—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and in truth {aletheia: dependable reality}.

Therefore, I desire that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands without anger {orge: outbursts of wrath} or disputing {dialogismos: quarreling dispute}.

Likewise, the women also are to adorn themselves in proper attire, with modesty {aidous: reverent inner respect} and sound judgment {sophrosynes: disciplined self-control}, not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or expensive clothing.

But rather what is fitting for women who profess godliness {theosebeia: reverence for God}, by means of good works {ergon: practical deeds}.

Let a woman {gyne: female learner} learn in quietness, in all submission {hypotage: yielded attitude}.

But I do not permit a woman to teach {didaskein: give doctrinal instruction} or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to be in quietness {hēsuchia: settled calmness}.

For Adam {Adam: first man} was formed {eplasthe: divinely shaped} first, then Eve.

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman {gyne: female human}, having been thoroughly deceived, became in transgression {parabasis: violation of a known law}.

But she will be saved through the bearing of children, if they continue in faith and love and holiness {hagiasmo: consecrated conduct} with self-control {sophrosynes: disciplined mind}.
