1 But you, speak {lalei: instruct aloud} the things that are fitting to sound doctrine {hugiainouse didaskalia: spiritually healthy teaching}.
2 Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith {pistis: steadfast reliance}, in love {agape: self-giving care}, and in endurance.
3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior {katastema: character-shaped conduct}, not slanderers {diabolos: malicious accusers}, nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of what is good.
4 In order that they may train the young women to be loving their husbands {philandros: warm marital affection} and loving their children {philoteknos: tender with children}.
5 To be self-controlled, pure, workers at home, good, submissive to their own husbands, so that the word of God {Theos, Faithful Revealer} may not be blasphemed {blasphemetai: spoken against}.
6 Exhort the younger men likewise {hosautos: same way} to be self-controlled {sophronein: wise self-control}.
7 In all things, showing yourself as a pattern of good works; in your teaching, integrity {aphthoria: moral incorruptibility}, dignity {semnotes: serious respectfulness}.
8 Sound {hygie: doctrinally healthy} and uncondemnable speech, so that the one who is from the opposing side may be put to shame, having nothing evil {phaulon: morally base} to say about us.
9 Slaves are to be subject to their own masters in all things, to be well-pleasing {euarestous: fully acceptable}, not contradicting {antilegontas: talking against}.
10 Not stealing but demonstrating all good faithfulness {pistin: wholehearted trust}, so that they may adorn the teaching of our God {Theos, Saving Master} our Savior in everything.
11 For the grace of God {Theos, Saving Initiator} has appeared, bringing salvation {soterios: decisive rescue} to all people.
12 It trains us so that, having renounced ungodliness {asebeian: irreverent conduct} and worldly desires, we might live with self-control {sophronos: balanced judgment}, righteousness, and godliness in the present age.
13 Waiting for the blessed hope and for the appearing of the glory of our great God {Theos, Majestic Savior} and Savior Jesus Christ {Iesous Christos, Returning Lord}.
14 Who gave Himself {Iesous, Voluntary Sacrifice} for us, so that He might redeem us from every lawlessness {anomias: violations of divine law} and purify for Himself a people of His own possession, zealous for good works.
15 Speak {lalei: publicly announce} these things, and exhort and rebuke with all authority {epitage: delegated command}. Let no one despise you.
