Psalms 5TAB

To the Chief Musician {lamnatseakh: performance leader}, according to Nehiloth {nekhilot: musical setting}, A Psalm of David.

Listen, LORD {YHWH, Prayer Hearer}, to my words; understand my meditation {hagigi: inward murmuring}.

Listen to the sound of my cry, my King and my God; it is to You {Elohai, Personal Sovereign} that I pray {etpallel: earnest petition}.

LORD {YHWH, Prayer Hearer}, at daybreak You hear my voice; at daybreak I arrange {eerakh: set in order} my prayer before You, and I keep watch expectantly.

For You{atah: Holy One addressed} are not a God{El: Pure From Evil} who takes delight in wickedness; evil does not stay with You.

The arrogant {geimim: proud opponents} will not stand before Your {YHWH, Sovereign Judge} eyes; You hate all workers of iniquity.

You {YHWH, Righteous Judge} bring down those who speak lies {kazav: deliberate falsehood}; the LORD loathes a man of bloodshed and deceit.

But I, in the abundance of Your {YHWH, Merciful King} mercy, will enter Your house; in awe of You I will bow toward Your holy temple {heikhal qodshekha: consecrated dwelling}.

LORD {YHWH, Righteous Guide}, lead me in Your righteousness {tsidqateka: faithful rightness} because of my enemies; make Your way straight before me.

For there is no uprightness in his mouth; their inward part is destruction {havvot: destructive evil}; their throat is an open grave; with their tongue they flatter {yachalikun: smooth deceptive speech}.

Hold them guilty, O God{Elohim, Righteous Judge}; let their own counsels bring them down; in the multitude of their transgressions drive them out, for they have rebelled against You{bach: against Your rule}.

But let all who take refuge in You {YHWH, Gracious Protector} rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and may You shelter {tasekh: encircle with protection} them; let those who love Your name exult in You.

For You will bless the righteous, LORD {YHWH, Blessing Protector}; with favor You surround him as with a shield {katsinnah: protective barrier}.
