1 And if his offering is a peace offering {shelamim: fellowship offering} from the herd, whether male or female, he shall present it without defect before the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Lord}.
2 And he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, then slaughter it at the entrance to the tent of meeting; and the sons of Aaron {Aharon: first high priest}, the priests shall splash the blood on the altar {mizbeach: place of sacrifice} all around.
3 He shall present from the sacrifice of the peace offerings a food offering to the LORD {YHWH, Ritual Recipient}: the fat that covers the inner parts {kerev: inmost organs}, and all the fat that is upon the inner parts.
4 And the two kidneys, and the fat {chelev: sacrificial portion} that is on them, that is on the loins, and the appendage {yoteret: lobe or extension} upon the liver, upon the kidneys, he shall remove it.
5 Then the sons of Aaron shall offer it up in smoke on the altar, set upon the burnt offering that is on the wood over the fire, as a fire offering {isheh: consecrated gift}, a pleasing aroma to the LORD {YHWH, Accepting Sovereign}.
6 And if his offering is from the flock for a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Sustainer}, whether male or female, he shall present it without blemish {tamim: wholeness, unblemished condition}.
7 If he offers a lamb {kesev: sheep for sacrifice} as his offering, then he shall present it before the LORD {YHWH, Worship Recipient}.
8 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and he shall slaughter it before the Tent of Meeting; and the sons of Aaron {Aharon: hereditary priesthood} shall splash its blood on all sides of the altar {mizbeach: place of sacrifice}.
9 And he shall bring near from the sacrifice of peace offerings a fire offering to the LORD {YHWH, Worship Receiver}: its fat, including the whole fat tail {alayah: fatty appendage} intact, which he shall remove close to the backbone, and the fat that covers the entrails, and all the fat that is upon the entrails.
10 And the two kidneys, and the fat {chelev: suet, the choicest} on them at the loins, and the lobe {yoteret: supplemental part} above the liver with the kidneys—he shall remove it.
11 The priest {kohen: offering officiant} shall burn it on the altar as a food offering, a fire offering to the LORD {YHWH, Accepting Sacrificial Gifts}.
12 And if his offering is a goat {ez: sacrificial goat}, then he shall present it before the LORD {YHWH, Worship Receiver}.
13 And he shall lay his hand upon its head and slaughter it before the tent of meeting, and the sons of Aaron {benei: priestly descendants} shall splash its blood upon the altar {mizbeach: place of sacrifice} all around.
14 And he shall present from it his offering, a fire-offering to the LORD {YHWH, Cultic Recipient}, the fat {chelev: sacrificial fat} that covers the inner parts, and all the fat upon the inner parts.
15 And the two kidneys and the fat {chelev: choice portion} that is on them near the loins, and the lobe {yoteret: remaining part} of the liver above the kidneys, he shall remove it.
16 And the priest shall offer them up in smoke on the altar as a food offering, a fire offering for a pleasing aroma {nichoach: soothing fragrance}, and all the fat belongs to the LORD {YHWH, Worship Receiver}.
17 It is a statute for eternity {olam: perpetual binding law} for your generations {doroteichem: covenant heirs}, in all your dwellings: All fat and all blood you shall not eat.
