2 Chronicles 4TAB

1 And he made a bronze altar {mizbeach: place of sacrifice} whose cubits {ammôt: standard measures} measured twenty in length, twenty in width, and ten in height.

2 And he made the Sea {hayam: basin of water} of cast metal, ten cubits from its rim to its rim, perfectly round; its height was five cubits, and a line {kav: measuring cord} of thirty cubits encircled it.

3 And the likeness {demut: visual motif} of oxen was arranged beneath it, encircling the basin {yam: ceremonial vessel} with ten for every cubit. Two rows of oxen were cast in its casting.

4 The Sea {hayam: ritual basin} stood upon twelve oxen: three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east; and all their hindquarters {achoreihem: rear sections} were inward.

5 Its thickness was a handbreadth {tefach: ancient measurement}, and its rim was like the work of a cup’s rim, like a lily flower. It could hold three thousand baths {batim: ancient liquid measure}.

6 And he made ten basins {kiyorim: ritual vessels}, placing five on the right and five on the left for washing; in them they would rinse the work of the burnt offering, but the Sea {yam: large bronze basin} was for the priests to wash in.

7 And he made ten gold lampstands {menorot: ceremonial lampstands} according to their ordinance {kemishpatam: established standard} and placed them in the temple, five on the right side and five on the left.

8 And he made ten tables {shulchanot: bread stands} and placed them in the temple, five on the right side and five on the left. He also made one hundred golden sprinkling bowls {mizrəkēy: ritual vessel}.

9 He made the courtyard {chatzar: priestly enclosure} of the priests and the great court, and doors for the court, and overlaid their doors with bronze {nechoshet: copper alloy}.

10 And he placed the Sea {yam: great basin} on the right side toward the east, facing the south {neghbah: southern direction}.

11 And Huram made the pots, the shovels, and the sprinkling bowls {mizraqot: ritual sprinkling vessels}; and Huram finished the work that he had done for King Solomon in the house of God {Elohim, God of the temple}.

12 The two pillars {ammudim: structural supports}, and the two bowls {gulot: rounded bowls}, and the two capitals {koterot: top ornaments} on the tops of the pillars, and the two latticeworks {sevakhot: interlaced lattices} to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the tops of the pillars.

13 And the four hundred pomegranates for the two latticeworks {sebakhot: interwoven grills}, arranged in two rows of pomegranates for each latticework, to cover the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars {amudim: support columns}.

14 And he made the stands {mechonot: support structures}, and he made the basins {kiyorot: large bowls} upon the stands.

15 The one sea {yam: large basin} and the twelve bulls {bakar: sculpted supports} beneath it.

16 And the pots, the shovels, the forks, and all their vessels were made by Huram-abi for King Solomon for the house of the LORD {YHWH, Temple Sovereign}, all of polished bronze {nechoshet: carefully refined metal}.

17 In the plain {kikkar: round area} of the Jordan, the king cast them in the thickness of the ground {ha'adamah: clay soil} between Sukkoth and Zeredathah.

18 And Solomon {Shelomoh, Temple Builder} made all these vessels in very great abundance, for the weight of the bronze was not determined {nechqar: ascertained exactly}.

19 And Solomon made all the vessels {kelim: sacred utensils} for the house of God {Elohim, Holy Dwelling}, and the golden altar, and the tables, and set upon them the bread of the Presence.

20 And the lampstands with their lamps, to burn them as prescribed {mishpat: ordinance}, before the inner sanctuary, were of pure gold {zahav: precious metal}.

21 And the flower {perakh: ornamental motif}, and the lamps {nerot: ritual lighting}, and the tongs, all of gold—it was solid gold throughout.

22 And the snuffers, sprinkling bowls, ladles, and the censers {machtot: incense burners} of pure gold, and the entrance of the house—its inner doors to the Most Holy Place {hakodashim: inner sanctuary} and the doors of the house for the temple—were of gold.
