Ephesians 6TAB

Children, obey your parents in the Lord {Kyrios, Supreme Authority}, for this is right {dikaion: morally fitting}.

Honor your father and your mother {metera: female parent}, which is the first commandment with a promise {epangelia: assured outcome}.

In order that it may be well with you and you may be long-lived {makrochronios: having a long span of years} on the earth {ge: the inhabited land}.

And you fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline {paideia: formative training} and admonition of the Lord {Kyrios, Parental Model}.

Slaves {douloi: socially bound workers}, obey your masters according to the flesh with fear and trembling, in sincerity of your heart, as to Christ {Christos, Supreme Master}.

Not with eye-service as people-pleasers, but as servants of Christ {Christos, Faithful Master} doing the will of God {Theos, Rightful Commander} from the soul {psyche: inner being}.

Serve with goodwill as to the Lord {Kyrios, Righteous Master}, and not to men {anthropos: human employers}.

Knowing that each one, whatever good he might do, this he will receive from the Lord {Kyrios, Just Rewarder}, whether he is a slave or a free person {eleutheros: one released from bondage}.

And you masters, do the same things toward them, giving up threatening, knowing that both their Lord {Kyrios, Impartial Heavenly Master} and yours is in heaven, and with Him there is no partiality {prosopolempsia: biased favoritism}.

Finally, be empowered in the Lord {Kyrios, Source of Strength} and in the strength {kratos: manifested power} of His might.

Put on the full armor of God {Theos, Supreme Commander}, so that you may be able to stand against the schemes {methodia: deceptive strategies} of the devil.

For our wrestling is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world-controllers {kosmokratoras: cosmic dark rulers} of this darkness, against the spiritual beings of wickedness in the heavenly realms {epouraniois: unseen spiritual realm}.

Because of this, take up the full armor of God {Theos, Protector in Battle}, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day {ponera: intense testing}, and, having accomplished all things, to stand firm.

Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth {aletheia: absolute reality}, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness {dikaiosyne: just character}.

And having shod your feet with the readiness {hetoimasia: alert preparedness} of the gospel {euangelion: saving message} of peace.

In all circumstances, having taken up the shield {thyreos: protective barrier} of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one {poneros: malevolent tempter}.

And receive the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit {pneuma, Battle Empowering Presence}, which is the word of God {Theos, Speaking Commander}.

Through every prayer and petition, as you pray at all times in the Spirit {Pneuma, Holy Empowering Presence}, also to this very purpose, keep alert with all perseverance and supplication concerning all the saints {hagion: set-apart believers}.

And also for me, that a word {logos: Spirit-given message} may be given to me, in the opening of my mouth with boldness, to make known the mystery {mysterion: once-hidden plan} of the gospel.

For which I am an ambassador {presbeuo: authorized envoy} in a chain, in order that in it I may speak boldly {parresiasomai: unreservedly and openly} as it is necessary for me to speak.

But in order that you also may know the things concerning me, what I am doing, Tychicus, the beloved {agapetos: deeply cherished coworker} brother and faithful minister in the Lord {Kyrios, Empowering Master}, will make everything known to you.

I have sent him to you for this very purpose {eis: focused aim}, so that you may know the things concerning us and that he may comfort your hearts {kardias: inner self}.

Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God {Theos, Giver of Peace} the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ {Kyrios Iesous Christos, Sharing Peace}.

Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ {Iesous Christos, Redeeming Master} in incorruption {aphtharsia: undying genuineness}.
