Colossians 3TAB

If therefore you have been raised together with Christ {Christos, Exalted Messiah}, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God {Theos, Sovereign Father}.

Set your minds on the things above {ano: heavenly realm}, not on the things on the earth {ge: created order}.

For you have died, and your life has been hidden with Christ {Christos, Hidden Life Bearer} in God {Theos, Secure Refuge}.

When Christ {Christos, Revealed Life-Giver} who is your life {zoe: source of spiritual vitality} is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

Put to death therefore the members {mele: bodily impulses} that are upon the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the covetousness {pleonexia: grasping greed}, which is idolatry.

Because of these things the wrath of God {Theos, Righteous Judge} comes upon the sons of disobedience {apeitheia: willful refusal to obey}.

In which you also once {pote: former time} walked {peripateo: settled way of life}, when you were living in these.

But now, you also must put away all these: anger {orgen: settled indignation}, rage, malice, slander {blasphēmian: abusive speech}, and obscene talk from your mouth.

Do not lie to one another, having stripped off {apekdysamenoi: decisively cast aside} the old man with his deeds {praxesin: ingrained patterns}.

And having put on the new {neon: new in quality} self, which is being renewed into knowledge {epignosin: deep recognition} according to the image of the One who created him.

Where there is no Greek or Jew, circumcision or uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian {Skythēs: distant outsider}, slave, or free, but Christ {Christos, All-in-All Lord} is all, and in all.

Therefore, put on, as the chosen ones of God {Theos, Electing Father}, holy and beloved, hearts of compassion {splanchna: deep affections}, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.

Bearing with one another and forgiving each other, if anyone has a complaint {momphen: reason for blame} against someone; just as the Lord {Kyrios, Model Forgiver} graciously forgave you, so also you must do.

And above all these, put on love {agape: self-giving devotion}, which is the bond of perfection {teleiotes: mature completeness}.

And let the peace of Christ {Christos, Anointed Reconciler} rule in your hearts, to which you were also called in one body; and become thankful {eucharistoi: marked by gratitude}.

Let the word of Christ {Christos, Speaking Lord} dwell in you richly, in all wisdom {sophia: practical discernment} teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God {Theos, Worthy Recipient}.

And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus {Kyrios Iesous, All-Governing Lord}, giving thanks to God the Father {Theos Pater, Thank-Worthy Father} through Him.

Wives, submit yourselves {hypotasstesthe: willingly place under} to your husbands, as is proper in the Lord {Kyrios, Authority Over Marriage}.

Husbands {andres: married men}, love your wives, and do not be bitter {pikrainesthe: harshly resentful} toward them.

Children, obey your parents in everything {panta: every circumstance}, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord {Kyrios, Receiving Approval}.

Fathers {pateres: responsible caregivers}, do not provoke your children, so that they may not lose heart {athymosin: become discouraged}.

Slaves, obey in all things your earthly masters, not with eye-service as people-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart {kardia: inner devotion}, fearing the Lord {Kyrios, Supreme Authority Over Work}.

Whatever you do, work from the soul {psyche: deepest self}, as for the Lord {Kyrios, True Master of Work} and not for people.

Knowing that from the Lord {Kyrios, Faithful Rewarder} you will receive the reward {antapodosin: rightful recompense} of the inheritance; serve the Lord Christ.

For the one doing wrong {adikōn: ongoing injustice} will receive back what he did wrong, and there is no partiality {prosopolempsia: biased treatment}.
