1 And the LORD {YHWH, Lawgiver} spoke to Moses {Mosheh: chosen leader}, saying,
2 If a person sins and acts unfaithfully {ma‘al: breach of trust} against the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Witness}, and denies to his neighbor about a deposit, or about a pledge of the hand, or about theft, or if he extorts from his neighbor,
3 Or if one finds a lost item {avedah: found property} and lies about it, and swears falsely concerning any sin {la-chato: culpable violation} thereby.
4 And it shall be, when he sins and becomes guilty, that he shall return the theft which he stole, or the extortion which he extorted, or the deposit {pikadon: item entrusted to his care} which was entrusted to him, or the lost thing {avedah: property discovered} which he found.
5 And from everything about which he swore falsely, he shall restore it in full{rosh: principal amount} and shall add its fifth part{chamishit: one-fifth portion} to it. He shall give it to whomever it belongs on the day of his guilt offering.
6 And he shall bring his guilt offering {asham: restitution sacrifice} to the LORD {YHWH, Atonement Receiver}, a perfect ram from the flock, or its equivalent, according to your valuation, for a guilt offering to the priest.
7 The priest will make atonement for him before the LORD {YHWH, Forgiver of Sins}, and he will be forgiven for any of the things he does that incur guilt {ashmah: moral culpability} in it.
8 And the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Giver} spoke to Moses {Mosheh: chosen deliverer}, saying,
9 Command Aaron and his sons, saying, “This is the law {torat: divinely given instruction} of the burnt offering: the burnt offering shall remain on the hearth on the altar {mizbeach: sacrificial stand} all night until the morning, and the fire of the altar must be kept burning on it.”
10 And the priest {kohen: ministering one} shall put on his linen garment and linen trousers; he shall wear them upon his flesh. Then he shall lift up the ashes {deshen: remains of sacrifice} which the fire has consumed with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall place them beside the altar.
11 Then he shall remove {ufashat: strip off} his garments and put on other garments, and he shall bring out the ashes to the outside of the camp to a place that is clean {tahor: ritually pure}.
12 And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning {tukad: continuous obligation} in it; it shall not go out. And the priest shall burn wood upon it each morning, and he shall arrange the burnt offering upon it, and shall kindle upon it the fat of the peace offerings {shelamim: fellowship sacrifices}.
13 The fire must be kept burning continually {tamid: without interruption} on the altar {mizbe'ach: place of sacrifice}; it must never go out.
14 And this is the law of the grain offering: the sons of Aaron shall offer it before the LORD {YHWH, Sacrifice Recipient}, before the altar {mizbeach: place of sacrifice}.
15 And he shall take up from it in his handful the fine flour of the grain offering and of its oil, and all the frankincense that is on the grain offering, and he shall burn it as incense on the altar, a pleasing aroma, its memorial portion {azkaratah: remembrance portion}, to the LORD {YHWH, Worship Receiver}.
16 And the remainder {hanoteret: what remains} of it shall be eaten by Aaron and his sons; the unleavened bread {matsot: breads without yeast} shall be eaten in the holy place in the courtyard of the tent of meeting.
17 It shall not be baked with leaven; I have given it as their portion from My {YHWH, Offering Owner} fire offerings. It is most holy {kodesh kadashim: highest consecration}, like the sin offering and like the guilt offering.
18 Every male among the sons of Aaron may eat it. It is a statute {chukkat-olam: perpetual decree} for your generations from the fire-offerings of the LORD {YHWH, Offerings Receiver}. Anything that touches these offerings shall become holy.
19 Then the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Commander} spoke to Moses {Mosheh: drawn out}, saying.
20 This is the offering of Aaron and his sons which they shall present to the LORD {YHWH, Worship Recipient} on the day of his anointing: a tenth of an ephah of fine flour {solet: finely sifted flour} as a continual grain offering, half in the morning and half in the evening.
21 Upon a griddle in oil it shall be made well-mixed; you shall bring it as baked pieces {tefinei: flattened cakes} and present the grain offering of broken pieces as an aroma pleasing to the LORD {YHWH, Worship Receiver}.
22 And the anointed priest who comes after him from among his sons shall make it; it is a perpetual statute {khok: enduring ordinance} for the LORD {YHWH, Sacrifice Recipient}; it shall be burned completely.
23 And every grain offering of a priest shall be wholly {kalil: total altar consumption} burned; it shall not be eaten {teakhel: prohibited consumption}.
24 Then the LORD {YHWH, Lawgiver} spoke to Moses {Mosheh: chosen leader}, saying,
25 Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, “This is the instruction for the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, the sin offering shall be slaughtered before the LORD {YHWH, Worship Receiver}; it is most holy {kodesh: consecrated set-apart}.”
26 And the priest {kohen: sacred official} who offers it for sin {hammaḥatti: officiates the sin offering} shall eat it; in a holy place it shall be eaten—in the courtyard of the Tent of Meeting.
27 Whatever touches its flesh will become holy {kadosh: set apart}; and if any of its blood is sprinkled on a garment, that on which it is sprinkled shall be washed in a holy place {makom: sanctuary area}.
28 And any earthenware vessel in which it is cooked shall be broken; but if it is cooked in a bronze vessel, then it shall be scrubbed {morak: thoroughly scoured} and rinsed {shutaf: washed completely} with water.
29 Every male {zakhar: male descendant} among the priests may eat of it; it is most holy {kedashim: highest sanctity}.
30 Any sin offering {chatat: purification sacrifice} whose blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement {lechapper: covering of guilt} in the holy place must not be eaten; it shall be burned in the fire.
