1 And from the blue, the purple, and the scarlet they made garments of service {srad: ministerial function} for ministering in the sanctuary, and they made the holy garments for Aaron, as the LORD {YHWH, Covenant LORD} commanded Moses.
2 And he made the ephod {ephod: priestly garment} of gold, blue dye, purple, scarlet yarn, and fine linen {mashzar: expertly spun}, twisted.
3 They hammered out the gold into thin sheets and cut it into strands {petilim: metal strands} to weave among the blue, purple, scarlet, and fine linen—the work of a craftsman {hoshev: skilled artisan}.
4 They made shoulder pieces for the ephod and joined {chovrot: firmly connected} them at its two ends {ketsavotav: extreme points}.
5 And the waistband of his ephod, which was on it and from it, was made in the same workmanship: gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet thread, and finely twined linen, as the LORD {YHWH, Law-Giver} commanded Moses {Mosheh: appointed leader}.
6 And they made the onyx stones encircled in gold settings {mishbetsot: decorative mountings} and engraved them as seal-carvings {chotam: signet impressions} on the names of the sons of Israel.
7 And He placed them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, as the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Law-Giver} had commanded Moses {mosheh: appointed leader}.
8 And he made the breastpiece {choshen: priestly ornament}, a work of a skillful craftsman {khoshev: expert artisan}, like the work of the ephod, of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twisted linen.
9 It was square and folded double {kapul: folded for fullness}, and they made the breastpiece {choshen: sacred ornament}. Its length was a span and its width was a span.
10 And they set in it four rows{turei: arrangement groups} of stones: a row of sardius, topaz, and carbuncle; this was the first row{haechad: first in sequence}.
11 And the second row {tur: successive placement} was emerald, sapphire {sapir: precious gemstone}, and diamond.
12 And the third row {shlishi: sequence marker} was a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst {achlamah: precious gemstone}.
13 And the fourth row {harevi'i: sequence marker} was beryl, onyx, and jasper. They were set in gold {zahav: precious metal} settings in their inlaid places.
14 The stones were set upon the names of the sons of Israel; there were twelve stones, engraved as signets {pitukhei khotam: engravings of a seal}, each according to his name {shem: individual designation}, for the twelve tribes.
15 And they made upon the breastpiece chains {sharsherot: interlinked loops} of braided cording {gavlut: plaited design} in pure gold.
16 And they made two settings {mishbetsot: decorative mountings} of gold and two rings of gold, and they placed the two rings on the two edges of the breastpiece {khoshen: priestly breastplate}.
17 And they placed the two chains {avotot: interwoven links} of gold on the two rings at the ends of the breastpiece {choshen: sacred vestment}.
18 And they attached the two ends {ketsot: extremities} of the two chains to the two settings, and they placed them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front {el-mul: facing forward}.
19 And they made two rings of gold and put them on the two edges {ketsot: paired attachment points} of the breastpiece, on its edge beside the ephod {ephod: sacred vestment} facing inward.
20 And they made two rings {tabbeot: ornamental loops} of gold and set them on the two shoulder pieces of the ephod from below, on the front side, opposite its joining, above the waistband {cheshev: decorative band} of the ephod.
21 And they bound the breastpiece from its rings to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue {tekelet: violet-blue wool}, to be on the band of the ephod, so that the breastpiece would not slip from upon the ephod, as the LORD {YHWH, Worship Regulator} commanded Moses.
22 And he made the robe of the ephod—the work of a weaver {oreg: skillful craftsman}—entirely of blue {tekhelet: sky-blue material}.
23 And the opening of the robe {me’il: priestly overgarment} was in its center like the opening of a coat of mail, with a hem {safah: protective edging} surrounding it so that it would not be torn.
24 And they made on the hem of the robe pomegranates of blue {tekhelet: violet-blue dyed wool}, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, finely twisted {mashzar: fine twined linen}.
25 And they made bells {fa’amonim: sounding ornaments} of pure gold and placed them between the pomegranates on the robe’s hems all around {saviv: complete circuit}.
26 A bell {paamon: small metal chime} and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, were on the hem of the robe all around for ministering, just as the LORD {YHWH, Worship Regulator} commanded Moses.
27 And they made the tunics of fine linen {shesh: high-quality fabric}, the work of a weaver {oreg: skilled artisan}, for Aaron and for his sons.
28 And they made the turban {mitsnefet: priestly head covering} of fine linen, and the caps of fine linen, and the undergarments {mikhnesey: linen trousers} of finely twisted linen.
29 And the sash of finely twisted linen and blue and purple and scarlet, the work {ma'aseh: skilled handiwork} of an embroiderer, as the LORD {YHWH, Ritual Commander} commanded Moses.
30 And they fashioned the plate {tsits: frontlet of authority} of the diadem of holiness from pure gold and engraved on it an inscription like the engravings of a seal: “Holy to the LORD” {YHWH, Supreme Sanctifier}.
31 And they placed a cord of tekhelet {tekhelet: ceremonial blue dye} on the turban from above, just as the LORD {YHWH, Divine Instructor} commanded Moses.
32 And all the work {avodah: Service} of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was completed; and the sons of Israel did according to all that the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Instructor} commanded Moses—so they did.
33 And they brought the tabernacle {mishkan: dwelling place} to Moses, together with the tent and all its vessels {kelim: service items}, its hooks, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its bases.
34 And the covering of the rams’ skins {hameaddamim: specially treated} dyed red, and the covering of the tachash skins {hattachashim: rare hides}, and the veil of the screen.
35 The ark of the testimony {edut: witness testimony}, its poles, and the atonement cover {kapporet: reconciliation seat}.
36 The table, all its utensils {kelav: service vessels}, and the bread {lechem: consecrated loaf} of the Presence.
37 The pure {tehorah: ceremonially clean} lampstand with its lamps and arranged lamps, all its utensils, and the oil {shemen: consecrated oil} for the light.
38 And the gold altar {mizbeach: consecrated platform} and the anointing oil {shemen: consecrating substance} and the incense of the spices and the curtain for the entrance of the tent.
39 The bronze altar {mizbeach: place of sacrifice} and the bronze grating that belonged to it with its poles and all its utensils {kelav: worship vessels}; the basin and its stand.
40 The curtains of the courtyard with its posts {amud: upright support} and its bases, the screen for the gate of the courtyard with its cords and its pegs, and all the furnishings {kelei: sacred vessels} for the service of the tabernacle for the Tent of Meeting.
41 The garments of service {ha-serad: Ministry Attire} for ministering in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest {ha-kohen: Spiritual Mediator}, and the garments of his sons to serve as priests.
42 According to all that the LORD {YHWH, Covenant Commander} had commanded Moses, the sons of Israel did the work {avodah: sacred service}.
43 And Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had made it just as the LORD {YHWH, Faithful Commander} had commanded—so they did. And Moses blessed {barekh: ritual blessing} them.
